The client saw the opportunity to utilise much of the rear of his block to create a well appointed new house for his retiring parents.

What started as a 2 storey development of humble proportions soon progressed to a substantial house of 3 storeys and roof deck.

The ground floor provides a large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen. Substantial court yards on all sides provide cross ventilation. The garage / car lift is accessed off the adjoining lane.

In reference to the owner's furniture making profession, timber fins are placed along the facade. The fins vary in spacing depending on window positioning. They also create movement, shade and stop overlooking.
